And the question I get asked the most is – “How’d you get your job?”

The God honest truth.
Someone saw me doing an impression of Patsy Clairmont.

I love and adore her.
But that’s probably not the best “how to get your dream job” advice I can give.

(In fact, if you aren’t good at impressions it could actually do the opposite. Thats just free advice.)

Most people really mean – “How can I do what you do?”

But I often wonder what people are really asking behind that question.
Where are they coming from in their story?
And are they waiting for that magic piece of advice thats going to catapult them to the stage?

Thats okay! Its a fair reason.
I’m always looking for that magic piece of advice.
Because I’m afraid of the hard work too.

Sometimes it can feel like generic advice.
“Just be yourself.” – when you’re desperate, what does that even mean?
“Never give up!” – okay. :/
“Don’t be afraid to fail.” – Umm, thats my greatest fear.

But when I think off the top of my head what are some things I did over these past seven years that made all the difference, well I’ve:

1. Done something that scares me almost every single day.

2. Held onto other people’s belief in me when I had none.

3. Believed everyday in the mission of what I was doing.

4. Failed. A lot. In front of thousands of people. Cried. And kept moving forward.

5. Wanted to learn.

6.  Asked lots of questions.

7. Tried to care about the audience more than myself.

These are my very true, and maybe very vague, nuggets at the moment.

I intend to write more specifically about my journey on this tour for memories sake, to unpack the things I’ve learned and for those who just truly want to know.
Besides there’s a whole new journey ahead that I want to start chronicling  as well.
